Digital Certificate is your identity on the internet. Many Applications necessitates verification of the authenticity
of the person e-filing. Digital Certificates (also called Digital Signatures)
are digital equivalent (i.e. electronic format) of physical or paper certificates.
Few examples of physical certificates are driver’s licenses, passports or membership cards.
Certificates serve as identity of an individual for a specific purpose, e.g. a driver’s
license identifies someone who can lawfully drive in a particular country.

Ministry of Company Affairs has launched an esteemed e-Governance program named MCA21. Under the said MCA21 program, new e-forms have been notified vide GSR No. 56(E) dated 10.02.2006 and statutory filing, in the office of ROC would be based on the new e-forms only.
A Digital Signature Certificate, like hand written signature, authorize identity of the sender filing the documents through internet which sender cannot oppose or contradict. A Digital Signature Certificate is not only a digital equivalent of a hand written signature but also it adds extra data electronically to any message or a document where it is used to make it more accurate and more reliable.
